What is the best way to get from the Galleria in Houston to Minute Maid Park using public transportation? - minute maid heartwise orange juicewhere to buy

I will see play in Houston in August to New York Mets, the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park, I'm staying at the Sheraton Suites Houston near the Galleria. I prefer to use public transport to and after games can not. Has anyone concrete advice on how best to your hotel to get the ball field?

Houston is my home, so when I saw this question, I just had to comment on it.
Maybe rent a car.

Bus ... collects # 53 on the side of Neiman Marcus in the Galleria and is a little faster or # 82 picks up everywhere Westheimer. You will get a few blocks from downtown to the stadium or a passage out of the car to walk there.

It's been a long time I had to take the bus, so do not know the charges, but I know that the streets remain the same. It is relatively safe, but motorists are pedestrians in this city, so be careful. Http: / / www.ridemetro.org Houston Metro website

safe by bus (not as many) in the downtown and hop along the main rail line. You do not succeed completely, because there is a line that goes everywhere (in my opinion leaders), but take place about 3-4 blocks from Minute Maid Park. Be sure to take a small loan, so you can have a beer, soft drinks and foods. The prices are expensive.
Have fun.

Julie response was good. You can take Bus 82 in the main street of Westheimer. Then hop the light rail on Main St. This will take you to the center a few blocks from Minute Maid Park, but you should be aware that Houston is a city public transport and August, very hot and humid. This is a very uncomfortable trip. But YAY for the attempted use of public transport.
